Author Note

Below, you'll find the content/trigger warnings for Dawn of the Darkest Day.  This book is only intended for readers who are mature enough to read Adult categorized books (18+).

I've separated the triggers into sections detailing if they are found on or off the page, and if they are prevalent themes throughout the story. Prevalent themes means things you will frequently see on-page and referenced as a main element of the plot. For some readers, distinctions like this can be a make or break if they'll read a book. At times, writing this book was difficult, and I imagine for some, reading it will be, too.

Dawn of the Darkest Day is the first in a four book epic fantasy series. Book 1 is heavily relationship focused, with themes of betrayal and abuse. The characters are required to navigate the consequences of these difficult relationships amid the main series conflict that is more prevalent in books 2-4. While both the POV characters in the first book experience different romantic relationships, these deviate from many of the beats, tropes, and expectations of traditional romance novels, including an HEA (happily ever after).

With all that said, when I polled my readers, the prevailing consensus was that Dawn of the Darkest Day was best categorized as a "Dark Fantasy Romance," so if that's the kind of book you like, I expect you'll enjoy DotDD too. In no way are these warnings meant to scare anyone away from reading it! I'd rather my readers feel slightly over-informed than uninformed :)
